Rapper Young Dolph was reportedly shot and killed in his home town of Memphis, Tennessee, on Wednesday afternoon, The Associated Press confirmed.
The artist released five studio albums since 2016, including the 2020 project “Rich Slave,” which debuted at number four on the Billboard 200.
Young Dolph was well known for handing out turkeys around Thanksgiving in Memphis, speaking to school children and donating money to his former high school, FOX13 reports.
Dolph, whose real name is Adolph Robert Thornton, Jr., was 36 years old.
Artists, fans and other celebrities — including Chance the Rapper, Megan Thee Stallion, Rick Ross and Deion Sanders — have posted tributes to Young Dolph on social media.
